The Village Coffee Stop & Catering in Lompoc serves as a versatile local spot where the lines between coffee shop, casual American dining, and barbecue meet. Tucked inside a modest strip at 3734 Constellation Rd, it draws a mixed crowd—from early risers grabbing a strong vanilla latte with a fresh-baked muffin, to families settling in for hearty breakfasts like the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs or the Country Breakfast.

The atmosphere is straightforward and welcoming, leaning into its identity as a neighborhood hub. For breakfast and lunch, it’s a comfortable place where locals come to fuel up before work or catch up over a plate like the Club Sandwich or the California Chicken Sandwich, both well balanced and substantial enough to keep anyone going through a busy day. The service tends to be warm and attentive without fuss, commonly noted by diners appreciating that local, homey feel.

Around lunchtime and into the early evening, The Village expands into its role as a casual American BBQ and steak house, with standout menu choices like the Tri Tip Dinner, Pork Ribs, and a Meat Sampler Platter that cater nicely to those looking for robust, smoky flavors without the need for a formal dinner setting. It’s an approachable spot to enjoy classic American comfort food with friends or family, especially after a day out exploring nearby Lompoc areas or traveling to and from Vandenberg Air Force Base.

While it is not styled as a bar focused on nightlife, the combination of a bar area and barbecue offerings suggests a place where people might linger over a local brew or a cocktail alongside familiar favorites like the Bacon Avocado Swiss Burger. The evening crowd likely skews toward locals unwinding after work or visitors seeking a relaxed meal with straightforward, well-prepared dishes.

Overall, this is the sort of business that anchors part of Lompoc’s dining scene by providing a sense of steady familiarity—nothing overly trendy, but consistently good food in a relaxed, practical setting. It works well for families, military personnel, and residents who appreciate generous portions and a menu that blends breakfast staples with classic American dinner plates. Early mornings and weekend breakfasts seem especially inviting here, while the spacious dining quietly supports casual dinners through weeknights.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We came here for breakfast with my family, and everything was amazing! The food was delicious, fresh, and came out quickly. The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The kids loved their meals, and Brenda and I really enjoyed ours too. Great portions, fair prices, and a cozy local spot that feels like home. Definitely one of the best breakfast places in town—we’ll be coming back often!

We took a little day trip to Lompoc and stopped at Dave’s Place for lunch. The Chicken Pesto sandwich was amazing, as was the Chef Salad! The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel it’s connected to looked super retro cool and made us want to come back and stay. Get out and check them out!

Our waiter Jim is the best dinner server at Dave’s Place. He was prepared with excellent recommendations, efficient service and a super positive attitude. All the food was fresh & delicious!

Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food here. We ordered the healthy start breakfast and tri-tip sandwich, they were both excellent. Easily the one of the best restaurants near the Vandenberg Air Force Base with a beautiful garden and spacious dining room. Also the only one in Lompoc on Open Table!

Great dinner at Dave’s Place in the Village Inn. Started with the artichoke appetizer which was expertly prepared and presented. The wine menu was super local! The strawberry and arugula salad with tritip was excellent. The prime rib was melt in your mouth good. Servers were very attentive and courteous. Definitely will be back and will bring more people. They also have separate rooms for private events.

The food was outstanding, and both my mother and I received generous portions for lunch. We both had plenty leftover to take home. The service and atmosphere was outstanding as well. We live in Santa Maria and we will definitely come back. It is worth the trip.

My family and I stop here often. They recognize us and always greet us warmly. There is paper on the tables for kids to color on which my son loves.
